We’re going green!
We’re counting down the days to our 2022 Grand Final. This is the first year that we have integrated both competitions, Miss Burlesque Ireland & Mr Boylesque Ireland, and all our finalists are competing together on the one stage for the Mx Burlesque Ireland title. We can’t wait for you to see what they have been preparing, and are thrilled to be back post-Covid, with our biggest, best show yet.
If you’re familiar with MBI, you’ll know that we use the proceeds of our raffle to give back to the community. Over the years we have supported the pollinators with bee bombs for native wildflowers, sponsored a bee-hive, and planted 200 trees.
This year, we are steering the competition towards Carbon Neutral, and aim to make as many little changes as we can, to reduce the impact of our event. The Green Roots Project Team will capture the carbon footprint of our event using Julie’s Bicycle, and will set a target to continue reducing our impact every year. The proceeds of our raffle will be used to offset any emissions.
We’re inviting YOU our audience to participate in this drive. Here’s how you can participate.
*Please respond to our survey. We will email a survey to all ticket holders on the day of the event, please reply before the end of the show.
*Support slow sustainable fashion, and wear your best vintage, secondhand, borrowed, or upcycled garment. Prize for the best-sustainably dressed audience member
*Please leave your car at home and travel to the show by public transport, bike, scooter, rollerskates, pogo stick, stilts, or on foot. If you have to travel by car, please carpool.
*The venue does not allow glassware from the bar into the auditorium, to prevent the need to transfer your drinks into the Single-use plastic glasses they provide, please bring your Keep cups and festival cups.
*Burlesque & Glitter go hand in hand. Our friends at Dublin Body Paint have an excellent range of Bio Glitter.
Please share all your green efforts with us using the hashtag #mxbiGreen & #sustainableshowgirls
